Same problem here.... I have cleared browsing data, removed Dark Reader.... still can't verify.

EDIT: I have even tried it in another browser... still can't verify.

@DoctorG Thanks, private windows didn't help either. I tried it on mobile now as well, same problem. I've contacted the support now.

@jane-n Although the phone number I have entered repeatedly seems not to be stored and even though my profile picture has been changed on my profile, it's not changed here on the forum, not even after a week has passed.

Hi, I changed my profile icon 2 days ago, I had to log out/in to the forum for the new profile picture to appear.
Restart the browser refresh the profile picture.Cheers, mib

You registered your account before the phone verification requirement was introduced for getting access to Vivaldi's emails service and blogging platform. You already have access to all Vivaldi services. Since we don't want to store personal data we have no need for, older accounts can't link their phone number to their Vivaldi account.
