After the latest update 5.3.2679.61 my Facebook news feed has become unusable. As I scroll down the page it jumps irregularly and rapidly as new items are loaded and dropped. I thought it was a problem with Facebook but could not find any way to solve it. Then I tried logging in with Edge and it worked fine. Also firefox was fine with the Facebook news feed. The problem only happens with Vivaldi. I tried installing a page refresh extension but that made no difference. I uninstalled all extensions from Vivaldi, restarted Vivaldi and the problem with Facebook continues. Is anyone else having this problem with Vivaldi?

Hi, there are many posts about the last two days.
Try to disable the Vivaldi add blocker on the page, use the shield icon in the address bar.
It seams Facebook change something and one of the blocker lists cause this.

          Cheers, mib

It seems there is an FB html meta tag now which forces a refresh of the page. It's making the Vivaldi+FB combination almost unusable. I'm also looking for a way to block these automatic refreshes..
Here is a discussion of how to turn it off in other browsers: https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how-to-stop-auto-refresh-in-facebook

Hi, I don´t use Facebook but you can check:
              chrome://settings/content/popups?search=redirects
Disable default or customise for Facebook.

              Cheers, mib

@iwaldner Just turn off the add blocker using the shield in Vivaldi - end of problem.

                    Cool.
Can you may check the setting I posted @iwaldner ?
If this work you can enable the add blocker on Facebook and it is not the reason of the problem.

                    Cheers, mib

Thanks. Disabling the add blocker for the FB site seems to do the trick. ( blocking tracking can be left on). Not sure @mib2berlin what else you suggested to try in that chrome link.. I would certainly prefer to keep blocking adds on FB...

I read the page from your link and they suggest to disable "Redirect" in the Opera browser. You can reach this setting in Vivaldi with the chrome://
link. I cant test this myself, I don´t use Facebook.
Copy and paste the link into the Vivaldi address bar.

I don't see anything called "tracker managers - none". I just see 3 choices, no blocking, block trackers, and block trackers and ads (default). Do u mean click on "no blocking"?

Morning, you can choose "No Blocking" or "Block Trackers" both seams
                                to work.

I reactivated the 'Trace' app and found that it does not work on Facebook, probably for this very reason.

I clicked on No Blocking and so far Facebook seems OK...but last night some other websites and alternate browsers were doing the reloading/jumping around thing too, so i was thinking maybe it's my new router. But at least for now everything looks OK.

Confirmed on my end as well. The problem is with the content blocker. Set it to none or block trackers and FB works fine. As soon as I add the ad blocking it starts skipping.
