Search widget a waste of screen space
-
One of my pet hates about Android is the amount of screen space that's wasted with badly coded widgets. They stop you from adding other widgets and icons and force you to create a new screen when there's clearly enough room on the other screen if Devs sorted their widgets out.
Any chance of Vivaldi's devs bucking that trend?

@stickymick What is your Vivaldi and Android version? Here's how it looks on my Android 9 phone with Vivaldi 5.3.2683.31

@pafflick
I guess it depends on the home screen grid size that you set. I'm running Android 11 and Vivaldi 5.3.2683.31 on a Blackview BV8800 with a grid size of 5x6. -
@stickymick I've changed the grid size to 5x6, and this is how it looks:
It got even smaller. Could you try other grid sizes and re-adding the widget to your home screen?

@pafflick Mine just does not reduce in size no matter what I try.
In the widget selection screen it says it's 5x2. Which I gather means it's 5 wide by 2 high but on screen it's 5x5.
I'm wondering if it's a bit of a bug in the UI of the Blackview BV8800. It's Android 11 (Doke OS 3.0).
