FONTS TOO FAINT
-
I have recently starting using Vivaldi but am really struggling to read anything as everything appears to be in a very feint almost washed out font and is tiny too.
How can I make things easier to read without have to zoom too much. I am getting headaches using Vivaldi that I don't get with Firefox!!
PS I can only just ready what I have typed here

@yhwyrulz Try Settings, Webpages, Fonts.
-
@pesala Tried that but there is NOTHING there to make fonts bold at all - I have has to come to Firefox to be able read on this forum
-
@yhwyrulz Can you provide a screenshot of this page in both Vivaldi and Firefox?
That can help us narrow down if it is some sort of rending issue or perhaps something you added to Firefox that increases the font weight.
-
I've given up, it appears that all Chrome based browsers are very hard to read compared to Firefox
-
@yhwyrulz Perhaps the CSS code offered in this thread will help?
-
@yhwyrulz Could you still provide the screenshots?
It might be useful for helping others in the future, even if you decide to stick with Firefox.
There might be an extension or setting that can fix this, but without knowing what the problem looks like, it is hard to tell.

I guess that @YHWYRulz means something like this.

If that's the case then it's a chromium thing, there is nothing we can do about it.

There is a lot you can do:
1.- You can use this CSS code:
* {text-rendering: geometricPrecision !important; -webkit-font-smoothing: subpixel-antialiased !important;}
2.- If you visit some page a lot make a style (with the extension Stylus) to use a font like "Lato" and increase the size with a good contrast like this :
Or this:
-
From what I have read not all fonts behave the same way.
So, you can use this code to have the same font in all web pages:
*:not([class*="ico"]):not([class*="icon"]):not([class*="icons"]):not([class*="fa"]):not([class*="control"]):not([class*="button"]):not([role*="button"]):not([id*="button"]):not([class*="btn"]):not(button):not(i):not(span):not(a) {font-family: Lato !important;}
Try with Lato, it is a free font, Very clear and easy to read:
https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/lato
https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Lato
And for good contrast use the extension Dark Reader:
