Vivaldi (Chrome/Opera) vs Firefox listening to internet radio
-
At work I listen to the following internet radio stations: http://player.listenlive.co/39561 http://player.listenlive.co/45831 They are in two of the nine tabs I have Vivaldi start with. When these pages start this message displays for approximately half an hour before the station connects - "Status - Live stream connection in progress..." This action happens on Vivaldi, Chrome, and Opera, the only browsers I use. I thought it might be because of something at work or that's just how internet radio works. On Friday I compared the memory footprint of these three browsers with the same nine tabs open as my machine had started having issues hanging since Vivaldi 1.0 (Vivaldi did by far the worse in memory usage). Just for fun I decided to try Firefox and see what happened. Both internet radio station pages loaded within seconds of the pages starting. I realize V/C/O are related and if an issue affects one it makes sense that it affects all but does anyone have any idea why this delay would happen on these browsers but not Firefox? I also have two tabs that launch into Office 365 - one my regular account and one my administrator account. On V/C/O these tabs start at the login screen. On Firefox these tabs start logged in, ready to go. It's not a big deal but it is a noticeable difference between the browsers. Does anyone have any idea why V/C/O have the half hour delay for loading the internet radio stations and if there is anything I can do to stop it? Thanks.

The first one started straight away for me. "What's Playing on CILV FM"
The second is "Not available in your area"CILV FM require flash plug-in - but you say you have Chrome so I'm puzzled.
Note: Firefox uses a different flash plug-in so that may point to the problem.Yours might be an old one - to be sure
Please go to get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ and Select your Windows OS and then "Flash Player FP21 PPAPI for Chromium.
Close Vivaldi.
Run the downloaded file to install flash.
Start Vivaldi, it should find the plug-in automatically. With regard to Office 365, I don't use it but maybe there is a "Remember me" or "Keep me logged in" option which works using cookies.
Do you have any cookie blocking (or ad blocking) for that site? -

The second is "Not available in your area"The first is in Ottawa, the second is in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Close Vivaldi.

Start Vivaldi, it should find the plug-in automatically.I did this last week when Vivaldi lost the ability to connect to either station period. I did it again just now but the results are still the same. Vivaldi and Chrome are still "Live stream connection in progress…"
I just went to another computer in the office and got the same results. Then I tried on my phone and all browsers worked right away. Must be something in our work internet setup that is affecting the chrome based browsers.
Thanks for the help. Guess I'm stuck with how things are at work

I'm in Uk so definately NOT in my area.
I did say I was puzzled and that it was a "maybe - but to be sure".
Happy you identified problem, even without a solution.
As it's you work, we probably should not start making suggestions regarding Proxy/VPN settings etc. -
