Problems loading Instagram with Vivaldi 4.0?

Hi,
Since recent weeks I often get errors trying to load Instagram pages, but after refresh they do get loaded. Is there any reason for this, or is it perhaps caused by some extension?

To clarify, I am planning to upgrade soon, but to be honest Vivaldi 4.0 works just fine and I'm not too worried about security issues. But I just wondered if Vivaldi 4.0 can cause problems with Instagram, is it because its using an older version of Chromium? This never happened in the past.

BTW, I get this message:
This page isn't working, if the problem continues, contact the site owner: HTTP ERROR 560
Most of the times Instagram loads correctly, but a couple of times per day it will fail to load Instagram profiles for no good reason.

Instagram works fine here, as far as I'm concerned, but I'm using the latest version of Vivaldi. We cannot provide support for older versions, sorry.

One of my fav websites simply refuses to work correctly each time i reload its page in my IE3. I shall write a stern complaint to its webmistress!

@rasheedholland Come on Rasheed. Writing these posting must have taken you more time than updating Vivaldi would have. Just click that update button. It's not that hard.
Mind you, many websites also want their visitors to use the latest webbrowser versions. See other reports on this forum about "you're browser is outdated". A minor Chrome version step can sometimes be enough to trigger this message. -
@rasheedholland , I can't test it for 2 reasons
1 I use the last versión of Vivaldi, which is highly recommended for several reasons
2 I tend to avoid Zuckerbot's inventions like the devil the holy water, also for several reasons. -

That's the thing, Instagram does work correctly in Vivaldi 4.0 most of the time, but sometimes it refuses to load. I just wondered if this type of stuff can be caused by the browser or that it's more likely that Meta/Facebook changed stuff.

LOL, good one. I did actually use MyIE 2 and Maxthon during 2003 till 2006 then I switched to Opera 12.

@rasheedholland Website developers on huge websites such as this keep changing the code constantly, therefore it's possible for them to introduce new things that are not supported in older browsers. If it's caused by the browser, then we can fix it - but in order to get the fix, the user needs to install the update.

So as long as browsers work correctly and newer versions don't offer me anything new that I need, I often stick with older versions.
And on my Win 8.1 machine I can't even upgrade, perhaps it's some kind of corruption. But on Win 10 it's no problem. But anyway, you're probably right about certain sites not supporting older versions of Chromium.

Yes thanks for the reply, and I totally get that. Only this problem with Instagram is a bit weird. I'm guessing it's because Meta has perhaps changed stuff because this didn't happen with Vivaldi 4.0 in the past.

And I'm not a fan of Zuckerberg but Instagram is actually pretty cool. There are many cute women to be seen.

@rasheedholland , well, there are good alternatives, like Pixelfed, LinkSpace, among others.
The update isn't only for security, it's also for compatibility. A lot of websites don't accept browser if it don't have the last security patches.
If it were not so, today you could move freely with IE or Netscape Navigator on the network and access any page.That has nothing to do with the AV or other security soft you use.
Every day they are more than 80.000 new malware in the network, currently even more because the Ucranian war), and because of this, webpages and also browsers need to update and close security holes, its a continuo work between hackers to find vulnerabilities, and devs and webmasters to close these.Because of this also the best current AV, apart of a improved heuristic don't use anymore data definitions in the disk, but definitions online in the cloud, updated in real time, even the Windows Defender do so.
Staying up to date in the network is vital.

I didn't know about those sites, interesting but I'm guessing they won't get as big as TikTok and Instagram. And yes, to me it's mostly about compatibility problems, that's when I do decide to upgrade but security issues are not a huge problem.
And I will tell you why, because browsers have hundreds of bugs and tens of zero days so the key is to use anti-exploit software that can tackle them. Because when these security bugs are patched, it's already too late if you catch my drift.

But this has nothing to do with the privacy which you expose in Instagram, but not so in the alternatives, which respect much more your data. That you may have there only 50 friends instead of 10.000 is irrelevant, if you use it for your family and your real friends. -

And of course adblockers like uBlock will also help.
But anyway, I did a search on Google and seems like I'm not the only one with this problem, so I wonder if this is caused by some extension, I do use an Instagram downloader. So looks like those dumb Meta/Facebook guys have messed things up so switching to Vivaldi 5.0 might not do the trick.

@rasheedholland , also the Windows Derfender isn't blind against exploits and also root kits, Windows 10/11 has a Sandbox system by default which it isolates completely the nucleus. It does not need an special third party app for this.
Windows in questions of privacy is a disaster, but on the other hand perhaps the current SO most reinforced against attacks, evidently the devs of M$ have not been rested in his kudos and learned of the past with Windows as principal target of hackers and malware of all kinds. -
Hello @RasheedHolland , I have same problem as you. My Vivaldi version is still 4.0 (exactly 4.0.2312.33 (Stable channel) (64-bit)). When this problem happen (Error 560), I have to close the Instagram tab then re-access that. But, it takes time. I searched that error code on Google, but no avail. So, the problem arise because of my Vivaldi version or what? Because I use Instagram regularly for anything (I can't use my handphone because it too old and too heavy for Instagram usage).
