using VLC to view downloads on Vivaldi

When I try to open an emailed video I can not use VLC to use it as I can with Firefox. I have tried using the alternates that were provided including one that is supposed o be vlc but to no avail. So each time I am forced to go back and load it with firefox...which I am trying to leave.

@john316 It works for me. I click the attachment, and select "Open" in the dialog that appears.
Are the video files associated with VLC Media Player? Do they open when double-clicked in your file manager?
