Bug: new tab opens in the wrong window
-
@gulli It looks like a different issue (registered as
VB-86683
), which seems to affect the Linux users only (we were unable to reproduce it on Windows and macOS so far). We're still investigating this. It was also reported on the Linux forum. -
I typically have two windows open (on separate monitors), each with 12+ tabs open.
If I am doing something in one window (call it right) and then go and click "home" on the other window (call it left), I would expect it to replace the current tab on left with the home page.
Instead it opens a new tab on the right with the home page.
If I click on the tab on left before I click the "home" icon, then it works normally.
Thanks

I continue to randomly experience this problem as previously described but can never replicate. Tonight there was a new twist. I edited the URL of a currently open tab, but when I pressed enter the new page instead opened as a new tab in my other window. The initial tab still contained its original URL and content. When I repeated the process the new page properly opened in the same tab.

Same thing happens to me and it's infuriating in the moment because it's such a focus-arresting, jarringly unexpected thing.

Works for me in 5.1.2567.73 (Stable channel) stable (64-Bit)

This has basically been happening all year for me. Super annoying.
