Vivaldi browsing history and Youtube

I am using Vivaldi browser because blocks ads and does not save the browsing history. Great!!

When I use Youtube on Chrome, every time that there is a new video from the channels that I use to watch, automatically this new video appears among the first positions of Youtube.

Using Youtube on Vivaldi browser, when there is a new video from the channels that I use to watch, it does not automatically appear among the first positions of Youtube, even if I set the parameter to save browsing history forever.

Any chance of getting this on Vivaldi browser?

I use YouTube in Vivaldi and I always have suggestions from Subscriptions on the top of the YT start page.

Are you actually logged in to your YT/Google account?

This does not depend on saving history or not, it probably relies on cookies and/or YT saving your viewing history (your Google account privacy settings). If you don't have an account, you have no viewing history.

Using Youtube on Chrome, without being subscribed to any channel and witout being logged in my Google account, the new videos of the channels that I use to whatch apperas automatically on the firsts positions of Youtube. After cleaning browsing data (saving history, cookies,...), the new videos does not appear anymore. If then I want that the new videos of my favourites channels appears automatically again, I have to watch several videos of that channel again. Probably the information that say to Youtube what kind of videos I like, is in the cookies of that videos, as You say.

Now I have parameterized the third-party cookies parameter to allow all on Vivaldi, watched some videos of one of my favourite channel, and Youtube still not showing me others videos from that channel.

I prefer not to be logged in with my Google account in Youtube.

@pabloblap Are you sure Chrome is not logging you in to Google services anyway?

It's probably cookies. Are you deleting cookies in Vivaldi?
And it's not 3rd-party, you can block those for privacy.

I just log into my Google account when I want to check my Gmail or use Google Drive. After this, I log out quickly, because I do not like that Google knows everything I am doing. This is the reason why I moved to Vivaldi.

Vivaldi does not save everything that we are doing on internet, what is great. The only web where I want that Vivaldi remember my preferences is Youtube, but I think this is not possible without logging the Google account.

Here is another example that shows that Vivaldi is not saving what We do on it: when Chrome shows a LINK for first time, the LINK is highlighted. When You see the link for second time, it is not anymore highlighted, it is attenuated. In Vivaldi, this does not happen, the LINK is always highlighted, what is great for people who value privacy.

YouTube stores your watch history into your Google account, and uses that for recommendations. It also uses cookies to keep track of what videos you watch, even if not signed in. If you delete these cookies for privacy, then it won't know what you've watched. You can't have both privacy and the convenience of YouTube remembering what you've watched.

I can't explain why Chrome "works" on your system, and I don't use Chrome. My guess is you've signed into your Google account in Chrome, and it keeps you logged in no matter if you delete history etc.

In Vivaldi, this does not happen, the LINK is always highlighted, what is great for people who value privacy.

This also works fine in Vivaldi. It's only because you delete history you don't see it. It's been like this since the start of the web, it's a convenience to be able to see what links you've visited on a site, and has little to nothing to do with privacy.
