Insecure Sites Randomly Open
-
When I leave my device, it sometimes opens Vivaldi with 2 tabs when I come back. The first one is at msftconnecttest.com/redirect, and shows a red exclamation mark and that my connection is not private. The second page is at https://www.gstatic.com/generate_204 and just says that it cannot connect. What can I do about this?

@thescorb0 The domain
msftconnecttest.com
has no valid certificate for SSL connections, a web server malconfiguration you can not fix.
But you can hit the Advanced button at error page and continue.But why do you use
https://www.msftconnecttest.com
? It works withhttp://www.msftconnecttest.com

@doctorg I use the HTTPS everywhere extension, so it automatically redirected it to https.

You can not expect that every domain has a SSL connection. You need to add a exception for those sites without/broken SSL.

Maybe your computer is losing connection to the internet and then reconnecting? That website shows up on Windows when you connect to a network with a captive portal before the router redirects you to the sign in page for the network.
A web search did show that some viruses also open that URL before redirecting to malicious sites, but not sure if that is what is happening.
