How can I disable vsync?
-
I am learning touch typing using monkey type website. I usually go into the fullscreen mode (F11) so I can focus on the exercises. I have noticed that there is sometimes a slowdown when I type.
I think it's related to my monitor FreeSync reacting to the vsync that is enabled in the browser (when fps drops). I have confirmed that the hz are dropping using monitor UI overlay.
Over all I have vsync disabled in the AMD Adrenaline panel for global and only enabled for certain games. So it should not be enabled in vivaldi AFAIK.
How can I disable vsync in fullscreen mode in vivaldi?
UPDATE: After some small digging through the internet it looks like the "chrome" is locked to 60 fps for some strange reason and this combined with vsync=on during fullscreen causes the "feeling" of slowdown.
I tested the Monkey Type in Firefox and such fps drop down does not happen in this browser and the typing experience is smooth...
Currently I think the only way to type is either to use Firefox or use Vivaldi on Linux where vsync is disabled by default.
