AdBlock it doesn't work with the new update 5
-
With the new update, the built-in adblock has stopped working for me, from the time I updated to version 5.0 it's like this, until version 4.3 I was doing well. I even reinstated several times because I thought I could fix it but it wasn't.
i use window 7 ultimate - 32bits -
@pakekita Welcome to the Vivaldi Community
Check your activated lists under Settings > Privacy, maybe the default lists have been disabled for some reason.
Also you can use Devtools (F12), Network tab to check if any requests are being blocked at all.
Check also the troubleshooting guide:

Hi there
I had similar issues, but only on Youtube not on other websites. My privacy settings were unchanged.
Downgrading to 4.3 resolved the problem for me, though it's not ideal.
(Vivaldi 5.0 on Arch Linux, package version 5.0.2497.24-1) -

Downgrade not advised by Vivaldi team!
You get broken a Vivaldi browser profile which cause unforseen effects.
The Vivaldi helpers are not able to help if you downgraded and run broken profile. -
@pakekita Perhaps the blocker lists changed.
How can we test? Do you have any URL? -

According to the screenshot of the first post I opened mangatigre.com and didn't saw ads there. So for me the adblocker is still working fine.

Same for me. Vivaldi Blocker works.

on some sites it doesn't work (youtube, twitter and others)
-
@doctorg Thanks for the heads-up. I upgraded again and the issue was resolved.
-
@lbex Fine
-
maybe it was required to restart browser and system too, I had this problem after update, checked adblock lists, but only after system restart adblock works fine

I'm using youtube enhancer and uBlock origin, now on V5.0.2497.28 - never have/had problems with ads.
Why not integrate those two inside Vivaldi, or at least uBlock origin? Why spend (scarce?) resources on own blocker, when the common standard (uBlock) already exists and it'll be next to impossible to catch up with it /make something better? -
