Mail integration

I see that you're going to offer vivaldi mail integration, if you were to offer IMAP integration with our local servers, that would be brilliant.
-
Vivaldi (not only) Browser will offer an integrated IMAP/SMTP client, compatible with all IMAP/SMTP servers, not only Vivaldi.net email servers
-
When you implement email, PLEASE, make it MAPI-capable right out of the box. As soon as you have a MAPI client that is capable of handling large volumes of mail without database corruption, it will be my default email client.
Vivaldi is already a single step from being my default browser, since the only thing I require in addition to what you have now is a vertical bookmark bar I can place on the right.
You won my heart when you offered vertical tabs with previews on day one, so let's throw in vertical bookmarks bar and leave Opera (and incidentally Ottter) on the dustheap of history.

It would be wonderful if PGP integration would be done as well. That's the only thing that kept me away from completely switching to Opera mail. Can we expect this to be done in the near future?
-
And I hope the integrated mail client works like a feed reader too, just like on the old Opera.

I never used the mail feature in the old Opera. I tried it once, but it was too basic for my daily mail use and dedicated email clients where better (Eudora, Thunderbird or Outlook). But I know it was popular among many users, in particular those that just handle notifications or reading I can see a real use when its integrated into the browser. Maybe I could use it for something…
The only concern I have and this is the reason why Opera removed it and why other browsers don't have it build in is load and performance. I mean, if you have thousands of messages, this will slow your browser to crawl. Not to mention I don't want a full mail client impacting how fast I load the browser at start-up or RAM or CPU when its not in use.
I think they should careful study how to implement this, because if you are loading a full mail client each time you start the browser, it will be heavy on resources, in particular RAM and CPU. Which means the browser will be slower. In my case I hope they have an option to completely disable it.

A feed reader, that I could certainly use.

Actually, Mail client in the old Opera didn't cause any performance issue (clean installation was lighting-fast though), at least for me. I have had more than 16k from multiple mail accounts. Mail index approx. was 14mb, in the memory it can double/triple but still old Opera was faster at starting than latest Opera. I remember when Opera uses only 120mb.

+1 i hope the devs include the rss reader

PGP integration

…and what about an online service, just as revolutionary as "turbo" had been, to provide a super easy PKI mail encryption?
-
@c-taylor I totally agree with you! Emails should be made but academics should be given equal importance. And now you can use online integration calculator with steps to solve those problems easily!
