microsoftnews.msn.com doesn't work in Vivaldi anymore
-
I use microsoftnews.msn.com for my daily news. It's the website version of the News app. Recently however, whenever I opened the link, it redirects to the Microsoft Start page (https://www.msn.com/en-us/feed) instead. I don't want to use Start because it doesn't have my personalized news sections that microsoftnews does. Today I happened to try microsoftnews.msn.com in Edge, and it worked! So I opened the Developer Tools in Vivaldi, changed the user agent to Edge Chromium, and it worked again! I then tried the Chrome and Firefox user agents, and it went back to redirecting to Start.
The problem is that the user agent change in Developer Tools won't stick, so I'd have to redo it and then reload the site every time I want to use it. Or install a switcher extension, which I'm not crazy about either. As I said, I don't want to use Start at all, so there any other way to fix this?

@fred8615 , it works for me, but what I do not understand why do you want to access with Vivaldi, you can configure in Windows 10, that the latest news appears in the Notifications of the Windows taskbar, without the need to open a browser.
System>Notifactions and Actions - and in the list search Microsoft News and activate it.
Anyway, try to access in Vivaldi in a Guest Profile, maybe its a extension or a setting which cause your problem.

@catweazle I have the News & Interests app on my Taskbar, but it has even less news on it than the website, and it uses Start too, so I still don't have the topics I have on microsoftnews.
Don't know why it worked for you as over the weekend I tried the web browser on my smart tv (not a name brand browser btw) and it redirected to Start with it whereas it was working before too. And this morning I installed a user agent switcher and set it up as Edge only on microsoftnews.msn.com, and loads just fine now.

@fred8615 , anyway I think that the reason is some setting or an extension. Because of this try it in a guest profile, to have a Vivaldi default version.
