How to stop Spotify links from asking to open the app?
-
Greetings lovely community,
I'm running EndeavourOS Gnome 41 and most of the time I when I use Spotify, I prefer to use the webplayer. I also have the Spotify appl installed from the AUR as well, but I don't always use it. Sometimes I just wanna hear one quick song and that's it, so I like to use the webplayer for times like that.
Every time there is like a Spotify playlist that's not from the actual Spotify site itself, if I click the Spotify link to go to the actual Spotify artist page, I always get a popup from Vivaldi asking me do I want Xdg-open to open Xdg-app. I'm on Linux so if I click yes, nothing happens since Spotify support on Linux is iffy at best. Ideally whenever I click on Spotify links that redirect me to the artists page, I'd like it to just automatically go there in the webplayer, without Vivaldi always giving me a popup.
Anyone know if there is a way I can do something like that? It would greatly help me very much! I'll post a few screenshots of what my issue to help make a little more sense of it.
Whenever I click the top right Spotify link in this webplayer, Vivaldi always pops up a message asking me to open Spotify, which does nothing, or I can select cancel, which will then open the webplayer, which is all I really want to do in this case.
Clicking on the top right Spotify logo in the app which is really just a link to the artists page, gives me the following popup from Vivaldi. I'd like to be able to stop this message from popping up and just go directly to the Spotify webplayer if possible. Please let me know of any ideas, thank you!
