Disable video hardware acceleration only (new version)
-
I need to disable hardware acceleration for videos due to a bug. Only for videos, otherwise the whole browser becomes too sluggish.
I have Hardware-accelerated video decode and Hardware-accelerated video encode disabled in flags, it worked until the latest update (Vivaldi 4.3, aka Chromium 94), but now the browser is still using the GPU to render something during video playback.
What changed, what do I need to disable now?

Hi, the flags are removed in Chromium 94, you can enable #temporary-unexpire-flags-m93 but this is only a workaround until they get removed completely.
I use HWA on two systems with Nvidia and Intel GPU without lagging, I set only #ignore-gpu-blocklist.Cheers, mib

The flags weren't removed, they're available in ://flags and set to the Disabled value I configured before the update. No temporary unexpire needed. I think I misunderstood my post.
Anyways, there seems to be a lot of GPU related changes in Chrome 94, WebGPU, WebCodecs, I can't boil down the trigger of the issue nor find where to disable them.
I randomly set Choose ANGLE graphics backend to D3D11on12 and it seems to have helped for now.
