Solved No Gmail or YouTube on Vivaldi Android
-
Every time I try and sign in to Google it keeps saying I'm not using a secure enough browser. I have tried clearing cookies and a default profile but that doesn't really help either. Searching around the internet this seams like the crypto token issue but I cannot find where to change it in the android version. Any help would be great

@wulfalpha The problem might be your using desktop view!
Try switching to mobile view, it will help.

Hi, work for me with latest stable and snapshot on an Android 11 Mi 10 Note Light.
We donΒ΄t have a setting for crypto token on Android but iirc it is on by default.
Please add your Vivaldi Version, device specs.Cheers, mib

Vivaldi 4.2.241 is the Vivaldi version. It's running on a OnePlus 9 pro on Android 11.

Thanks so much! That seems to have done the trick! Interesting that google auth doesn't work in desktop mode. (Many sites look terrible in mobile so I usually run in desktop mode) that is good to know and not really a problem now that I know. Thanks again!

@wulfalpha Well it's a Google problem!
What u need to do is turn off desktop view in user name page and turn it back on password page . You will get what u needed and Google will get what theydeserved -

I'll have to try and remember for next time Vivaldi is updated.I have been signed in to Google News on my Huawei P40 (no GMS - so no Google News app sadly) and it's been working until I updated to the latest version. Then I got the "Your browser is not secure" message. I tried all sorts, including deleting, re-installing, generating an app specific password, all the usual things. I even (horror!) downloaded Chrome to use instead for the News. Thanks to you I can now delete Chrome again.
To repeat the advice: turn desktop view off, sign into the Google app, turn desktop view back on.
Many thanks Lockrol, appreciate it.
