Configurable mouse gestures

  • I want to ask you about configurable mouse gestures - are they planned in Vivaldi? (like in my favourite Opera 12)? Mouse gestures in Opera 12 were a legend. It was super-usable feature. Or maybe can I set it now, manually in some config file? Thanks very much, for your work, for Vivaldi, for alternative.

Yes, per the devs, they are planned, in time. They are not available yet.

  • is there any info about that feature (configuration of the mouse gestures) available?
is it on an specific place/order on the to-do list or anything like that?
or still no idea about when it will finally arrive?

  • It is doable now from the Vivaldi\Application\1.0.###.##\resources\vivaldi\bundle.js file.

You basically have to search for the action you want, and copy&paste its command over an existing gesture you want it mapped to.

    It is NOT fun.

  • hm :D

ok i guess ill give it a try. not before macking a solid backup ;)

    thx so far.

  • For that subset of the total Vivaldi cohort who are fortunate enough to use Linux & KDE, you can already add some custom mouse gestures now, if you wish. You do it in KWin rather than Vivaldi itself, but you configure KWin to apply your desired gestures in Vivaldi. FYI: https://vivaldi.net/forum/vivaldi-browser-for-linux/9262-integrating-kde-kwin-mouse-gestures-with-vivaldi-browser

  • Lack of configurable gestures (from settings - I'm not a developer) is a complete deal breaker for me (and I know I'm not alone).

As others have asked, is there a development schedule or priority list for new features? Everything else about Vivaldi I love, but I'm going to stick with FF until this happens. I would like a way to track it - any help?

    Thanks!

  • I really need this.
I can not live without the Open link in tab mouse gesture, but I can not live WITH the previous page gesture. I lose all my progress on a page when accidentally going back.

  • Been asked for many times, so configurable/editable Mouse Gestures is on the to-do list.

However, the schedule/priority is determined internally by Vivaldi and not available to "the public". So we have to be patient.
