This is the hangup with MX Linux. If it's not OSS, they won't put it in as default. They will make it easily available via their MX Package Installer, as they do for Vivaldi, the proprietary nVidia drivers, etc, even if it's not in normal upstream repos, but they won't install it for the user; he has to make that choice himself.

I feel like the default browser on a Linux distro should be FOSS. Vivaldi doesn’t seem like a default browser anyways, it’s for power users. It’s for people to discover themselves.

Considering that Manjaro is one of a handful of distros offering to install not FOSS stuff during installation, it makes sense

@talgarik , I think that at present the FOSS offer is already quite contaminated with products from large monopolies, for this to be difficult to say that FOSS is preferable to soft which is not.
The criteria should be more oriented to the product itself and the ethics offered by the creator in front of the user.
There are quite a few examples of proprietary soft, which are more secure and more respectful of user privacy than some FOSS.FOSS is interesting for developers who know how to work with the source code, modify it and be able to create derivative projects, but for the normal user other criteria are more important.
I never tire of repeating reading the TOS and PP of the product, before using it, it does not matter whether it is FOSS or not, this can give many surprises and not always pleasant.

Not quite certain if this constitutes a "default" but puppy users are very much aware of vivaldi and is in the list of browsers available. -
@priest72 ,I think Vivaldi is available in the catalogs of most distros, like almost all browsers, but not as a default browser (yet).
This may change in the future, if Mozillas continues with its policy tangential to the needs of users.
