Can't play YouTube videos in higher than 1080p?
-
Does anyone have the same problem by any chance?
Any time if I try to select 1440p/4k/8k as a resolution for Youtube video it just jumps back to 1080p automatically. Tried it with different browser (Edge), no problem at all.
Any idea how could I fix this?My monitor native resolution is 1080p but it should work regardless.

@aky82hun works for me with 2160, my adsl speed can't quite keep up with the needed bandwidth so it buffers now and then but it works;
I often select 1440p instead of 1080p to get better image quality and less compression artifacts so I can guarantee it works;
you probably have some extension that interfere with YT -
@ian-coog hey, thanks for the quick reply. you were right, one of my extension was causing the issue. thanks very much.

At 4k I get lots of buffering and Vivaldi's interface gets a bit sluggish, but it stays at 4k. (I was actually a bit surprised with the buffering, considering I have a 512Mbps connection and never had buffering issues before, even at 4k).
1440p is working just fine for me. either way, in both cases the resolution is not being automatically lowered in my case.
