Padlet.com pages not fully loading with images
-
This may be a lazy loading issue. When I open a padlet in a new tab, it'll load the background image but not the images on the individual posts. However, the post images will finish loading when I click on the tab.
Here are two examples of public padlets (not my own) that show what I'm experiencing:
https://padlet.com/gallery/photo_contest
https://padlet.com/gallery/singapore_itineraryI've tried un-checking "Lazy Load Restored Tabs" in the settings but the issue persists. Note that I've experienced this behavior on all chromium-based browsers. The pages load fully in Firefox, though.
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has a workaround to force tabs to fully load when opened. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

@pickripper I believe the problem is caused by "Ad Blocking".
Test by using Guest View
Whether you trust the site enough to disable ALL your Ad Blocking is your decision

@tbgbe Thanks for the reply, but I've tried turning off all ad blocking and using Guest View but the problem persists. I tried turning off the Adguard Windows client, too.

@pickripper Both sample links work fine here in my standard Snapshot with uBlock Origin, as well as in a clean profile of 4.1 Stable with ad-blocking enabled.
However, the post images will finish loading when I click on the tab.
You need to explain this better. What do you mean by "clicking on the tab"? You click on the Tab Bar tab and suddenly images load? Do you hibernate these tabs?`
A screen recording showing the issue will help.
Please try the troubleshooting steps first:

@Pathduck Thanks for chiming in. Sorry I didn't explain my issue very well. Yes, I mean that when I open a site in a Tab Bar tab, the images and other media don't start loading in that tab until I click on that tab making it active. The tabs aren't hibernated, and it happens with Guest View (no extensions) as suggested by @TbGbe I checked out the troubleshooting link you sent, but I didn't see my issue there.
I'm not sure how to do a screen recording. Maybe this will help me be more clear: If you middle-click on this public padelt 5 times, Vivaldi should open 5 tabs with the same site in each tab. However, each tab seems to lazy load instead of fully loading. Each tab doesn't download and display all the images until you actually click on that tab making it active.
It's only an inconvenience for me because every day for work I need to open about 20 different padlets, each with hundreds of images and videos. I'd just like them all to fully load in the background right away instead of waiting for me to click on them individually.
Thanks again for your time...

@pickripper
Hi, I test the link with Chrome and it work the same.
Each tab load when you click on it.
Firefox load all images in the background so I guess it happen with all Chromium browsers.Cheers, mib

@pickripper Yeah, like said above, it seems to be specific to Chromium-based browsers. I'd recommend taking this up with the site support if you find it a big problem - maybe there's something they can do in the code.
There's no setting in Vivaldi to change this. There used to be a flag to disable it after it was introduced -
#enable-lazy-image-loading
, but it's since been enabled by default and the flag removed.https://www.thewindowsclub.com/whats-lazy-loading-how-to-enable-or-disable-it-in-firefox-and-chrome

Yeah, I was searching for that old flag, too, and was hoping it just got renamed instead of removed. Thanks for looking into this, everyone! I'll suggest the ability to disable lazy loading as a feature request. Cheers...

@pickripper
Hi, you can try to enable old Chromium 91 flags, this should work until the developer remove them finally.vivaldi://flags/#temporary-unexpire-flags-m91
