Vivaldi forum vs uBlock Origin
-
Recently Vivaldi forum constantly spamming me with this message:
And then after many test, I have narrow down the problem to be uBlock Origin. Even when I disabled it's filter for Vivaldi forum, the problem persist... The only way to eliminate this connection problem is disabled uBlock Origin extension completely.I'm not sure who fault is this, so I just report this here hope someone have similar problem can discuss it here before I made bug report.
thanks for your time & support.

@dude99 I had recently the same problem.
Are you using "
Actually Legitimate URL Shortener Tool" filter list?

Yes. Is that the culprit? Should I remove it?
Thanks for your respond.

Yes. I asked in the uBO Reddit forum.
Should I remove it?
I did it and now everything is ok.
The user in the forum gave me this link:

Now, how could you explain that even though I had uBO disabled in Vivaldi Forum (blue button disable in uBO) the problem persisted.
It is as if uBO were still operating in the background even though it is disabled. Very strange.

@barbudo2005 Yes. Strange indeed.
Can we simply edit the filter list to eliminate entries that causing the problem instead of disabled the filter entirely?Guess we'll wait for the fix...
Thanks for all the info. -
@dude99 I asked the same question in the uBO Reddit Forum so let's see what they say.

Thanks for the headsup. This has been fixed with a hotfix in 10July2021v1-Beta
So, it's suppose to be fixed?

I don't know. Where did you find it?
The answer about uBO in Reddit:
"I was able to reproduce the issue - service worker "tabless" requests are still filtered when page is whitelisted. Will file a bug report."
-
@dude99 I ask in uBO Forum:
What is "tabless" requests?
The answer:
"Pages can install scripts in browser, these scripts are used for example to cache page resources, update content (download mails in background) or check for notifications even when page is not opened in any tab, so they are not directly assigned to any tab."
-
FYI:
Whitelisting should be fixed in next release https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uBlock-issues/issues/1657
-
@barbudo2005 Thanks. I think it's fixed in latest update.
