Allow Tab Reordering
-
In the current version, any attempt to reorder a tab pops that tab out into a new window. Consider allowing tab reordering within the same window like most other browsers do.

@gcashley A few users seem to have problems, but I don't have any issues with re-ordering tabs.
This is not a valid feature request since tab reordering is available.
Search for other threads on the topic in the Support forum, and reply there giving details of your OS version, Vivaldi version, and hardware. For example, whether you're using a trackpad or a mouse.
Watch this short video to see how tab dragging is supposed to work.

@gcashley Tab reordering works for me. The visual aspect of reordering is arguably not as good as other browsers, but it definitely works. It sounds like you have a bug, or a feature request.

I have this bug as well and it is driving me insane. I know how to reorder tabs. I can kind of fix the issue but the behaviour is just weird. The fix is more of a very complicated workaround.I've read somewhere that it might have something to do with profiles. So I created a new profile. And look, it worked in the new profile. But, I still had the old profile open in another Vivaldi window. As soon as I close the window with the old profile, I get the same issue in the new profile. It seems to kind of always affect the main profile that is opened. So if you only have one in use, that one is affected. If you have multiple it is the one that has been opened the first from all of them.So the "fix" is to use multiple profiles but never use the first one you open. But, obviously, there is an exception even to that. Since the default profile seems to always be affected. So you need to open your default profile and then switch to another profile. Because if you open them the other way around both profiles will have the bug. If you opened them the wrong way around, go ahead, close the non-default one and open it back up and it is "fixed" for the reopened profile. It makes absolutely no sense and driving me insane.Im on Big Sur Version 11.4 on a MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019).This fix didn't work, found the reason for it, can be found here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/64233/tab-reordering-and-new-windows

I have this issue as well, It's most likely related to having multiple windows open, mine are usually on different monitors, one window per monitor.
It does not always happen though. The animation indicating the future place is drawn in the correct place where you want to drop the tab. But then, instead of putting it there, it opens a new window with a single tab.
