Toggling off Bold or Italic Font at an online forum

Using an online forum editor with Vivaldi browser.
If I start a line of text in Bold Font, then toggle off bold font, and continue typing, the next character (a space character) is deleted from the text output, and the bold font is automatically switch on again.
Issue only seems to occur when I start a line of text with Bold Font switched on.
Same happens with Italics Font.
The forum cannot replicate the issue, and suggest it is a browser problem.
