Wrong audio device used
-
I have set up a different than default output device for apps in Windows 10 Settings -> Sound -> App Volume device preferences. My main output device is still default though. When I start Vivaldi and press play on Youtube or Soundcloud the default output is used, not what I selected. Only refreshing the webpage forces the device configured to be used.

As you can see Cable Input is configured for my apps, but for some reason Vivaldi does not respect that selection and chooses the default device ( Speakers Focusrite ) until I press F5 and refresh all my tabs that had audio or video opened.

Forgot to mention. It happens when I close and reopen Vivaldi.

@oomek I believe that what you're experiencing is a fairly documented bug with Windows. For some reason, the settings in the Device preferences window don't actually persist when the app is closed and reopened. It will continue displaying CABLE Input (or whatever), but will not actually output to that device unless you swap off of it and then back. In order to mitigate this, I'd like Vivaldi to offer in-app audio device selection. Until then, however, you just have to manually swap it back and forth every time you close Vivaldi or any other program with special settings.
