Vivaldi Mail high cpu usage
-
@tbgbe Thank you! After disabling the mail in Vivalid, the CPU usage is normal. I had configured only one mail account (just to try the Vivaldi mail), without any mail filters and I got no new mails in the last days to this mail account.

any ideas?

I had a lost internet connection while starting up Vivaldi and when the connection was back I wanted to check if there were new feeds... so I right-clicked the "Feeds" heading, and selected advanced -> rerun filter...
Ever since then (an hour ago) it has shown "running mail filters" in the status bar and is using 30% CPU. Even after closing and opening Vivaldi again. There were no new feeds to load and everything seems completely normal - except that's it's doing something.
I looked at the help page but couldn't see anything relevant in the developer tools. I don't want to rebuild the database since my accounts are all POP and it says they'll be lost.
I'm hoping it will eventually finish whatever it's doing - not much else I can do.

@mossman Have you formally reported this as a bug?

No, since there were already threads on here reporting the same issue.

That's true but different. Here it's conversation. A bug report w an assigned # might attract attention by the developers.

@janrif Well when I'm reply no. 28 in a thread that started 8 months ago, it seems odd for me to be making a bugreport... I would expect one of the other posters here to have done that months ago.
Nevertheless: VB-87144

See also VB-86996 in this thread.

Agreed but I have learned -- the hard way -- never to assume something is already done unless I can confirm or do it myself. Thanks.

Some familiar aliases here but others as well. As a hint:
I have (not high but) increased CPU usage experienced in conjunction with the permanent status message 'Running mail filters...'. If this is the case for you, this may present some insight, however the solutions requires the golden developers hands
