Installer does not check for free disk space, attempts install and reports a corrupt archive
-
I'm unable to upgrade from 3.8 to 4.0.
Tried both the in-app updater and downloading a standalone distro from vivaldi.net.
Either way, the installer complains that the archive is corrupt and is unable to continue the installation.
Standalone distro params:
Vivaldi.4.0.2312.33.x64.exe
https://downloads.vivaldi.com/stable/Vivaldi.4.0.2312.33.x64.exe
CRC32: 280D6C64
MD5: C1AEFC2CE6BCC5909314BD78EDE616D1
SHA-1: 8E0B41AA4CCD8B015FBBEEA5732C868B1DB18B51
UPD: the issue was caused by low disk space on the system drive. Clearing up some space and restarting the update resolved the issue.
This seems to be an issue with the installer. It should check for available disk space and not confuse users with a "corrupt archive" error message.

@lolmaus What OS are you using?
-
@hololoyoj Huh? I have nothing to add to the details I provided above.
-
@hololoyoj I was replying to "what distro are you using". I see that you have edited your question.
I'm on Windows 10 x64 Pro Eng, version 10.0.19041 Build 19041.
-
@gwen-dragon Same as what I have reported above.
Does it install successfully for you?
-
@lolmaus , mabe the problem is that Windows since 1901 had 2 important security updates, the actual v. is 21H1. Look in the settings of Windows for updates.
-
@lolmaus All right, i have had this issue before, i just reset the computer, i was on a vm so it didnt really matter
-
I've noticed that I've had less than a gig of free space on my system drive.
After clearing up some space, the installation succeeded.
I will update thread title accordingly.
