I loooooong change logs
Really curious what the silent updates feature is from a technical perspective. Is it a service, a process running or something launched on user login?
I tried enabling it in one of my Snapshot standalone installs but not noticing anything added to autoruns...
It was sort of implied in this thread that it's going to be a task, which would make sense since that's how so many others do it (and it would be no problem disabling it for the less carefree among us). Maybe you don't have a standalone or single-user install?

Since the first snapshot on Chrome 91, Vivaldi uses the full resource of two of my CPU's. One for the Background Processes and one for the Application. De facto freezing the browser.
I have to wait some minutes before I can use the browser again. This happens randomly during the day (as far as software can do something randomly ).Anybody has the same problem? Or can help me to solve the issue?
Thanks,

@packmei When it happens again, press
Shift+Esc
to open Vivaldi's own task manager. Hopefully you'll be able to see in there what is going (like if it is a specific website or extension that goes nuts). -
The only resource consuming task are the application and the browser, see the task manager. I've found no pattern in any website.
I considered an issue with the Beta-mail. But when I disable checking email every few minutes, this doesn't help.Any idea?
Thanks

I noticed it too. I thought there was something wrong with my setup.

BUG?

-
@newscpq Working fine for me on the images in the above posts.

Works in Chrome/FF

Anyone else having the "Feeds" icon (and also the toggle for it in the context menu) disappear from the side panel?
Edit: My bad, it's already mentioned. In this case read this as "my feeds disappear too".
-
@killchain: Could it be that you have multiple windows. Mail/Feeds/Contacts are only in one window at a time currently. A fix to be able to have it in multiple windows is a side effect of another issue being worked on.

Any way to downgrade to a previous snapshot? The last month or so of snapshots are way too buggy for me and the bugs are ignored even going into stable. I don't like seeing my favorite browser die off like this.
-
@vividal Downgrading is possible (by finding a previous snapshot and installing it, I think). But it can corrupt your profile, so make sure to back it up before you try anything.
-
@gmg: Yeah, indeed, it happens when I open a new window. Thanks for explaining.

Few weeks ago I wrote about that you need to move tab acros almost whole tab, to change position of tab. Have a look on video with comparison to Edge, how much you need to move cursor in Edge and in Vivaldi. Because Edge takes new tab position based on borders of existing tab, and Vivaldi based on mouse position.
And there is bug, that if I start dragging tab, but release it without changing position, tab became somehow unactive and it is possible to drag whole window from that tab. You need to move cursor away or switch to other tab, to be able drag tab again.
What a nice animation, what a smooth transition, how easy and comfortable it looks to move tabs.
I guess this time there's no news about fixing the current horrible tab sliding either... -
@komposten: Thank you. I could only go a few back. The last snapshot in April won't install over, for example.
