Screen capture extension that works
-
Is there any?I tried almost 15 of them from the chrome web store but none of them saves the captures anywhere on my disc. They don't pop out any ''save as'' window and they also don't have any saving location to choose on their options.

Problems with some extensions have been addressed recently. What is your version number?

Don't bother with extensions for this. Install a screen capture program for Windows (e.g. FastStone Capture), then you can easily capture screen shots from any browser or windows application. FastStone 5.3 is freeware. There are other choices, even the built in Windows tools, but if you want to capture scrolling web pages, it won't be good enough.

@purgatori:
Fireshot is probably the best extension of this type available for Chrome/Chromium-based browsers, but unfortunately it does not work with the current Vivaldi snapshot (or any of the previous TPs, betas, or snapshots, for that matter).
I'm, hoping that, eventually, Vivaldi will natively support capturing pages along with inking and annotation—much like MS Edge, but for now you might have to use the screenshot function built in to the Notes sidepanel, or go with the option outlined by Pesala.
Vivaldi has it's own capture tool inside the notes panel, I think it's there since the day one.

Yes, that's why FastStone Capture is the best choice. See the attachment to my earlier post — a screen shot taken with FastStone Capture.

Thanks in advance!I provided a link to my review pagel in my first post.
Even the free version 5.3 does pretty much everything most users will need.
Get the $20 registered version if you need to capture video. There's a full version history with key features listed on the Download Page.

They should make a built in one.

Stop suggesting apps!
Can anyone suggest an EXTENSION that does it or not?
(Pro tip: if you can't, don't reply!)EDIT: The FireShot extension works.
There, now there's one useful reply. -

There, now there's one useful reply.Pro Tip: Don't be so arrogant! I understand where you're coming from, but the OP said that they already tried 15 extensions and none of them worked. Yours is not the only useful reply, although the FireShot extension does now seem to work in the latest build.
There are valid reasons for installing an application rather than an extension, though since I disabled the scrollbars, FastStone Capture stopped working properly in Vivaldi. It works in all other browsers that I have installed: Opera 12.17, Opera 36, Firefox, and IE11, not to mention any other windows application.
Can Fireshot do all that? Can it even be installed for IE11 or Opera 12.17?

Hi,
I tested FireShot in latest Stable and Snapshot release, and it works.
- In Developer release it works just fine.
- In Stable release, it can't (at least what I find out after quick check) directly use action "Save as Image". It will show alternative way to save file though.
Configuration:
| Capture Webpage Screenshot Entirely. FireShot | 0.98.85 |
| Vivaldi - Developer | 1.2.470.11 (Developer Build) (64-bit) |
| Vivaldi - Stable | 1.1.453.55 (Stable channel) (64-bit) |
| OS | Windows 7 x64 |PS: I also filled bug report and topic for similar extension Full Page Screen Capture -> [Bug] Extension 'Full Page Screen Capture': Doesn't work. It has less functions, but doesn't need any additional permisions.
