      Hello everyone, I want to switch from Firefox to Vivaldi, I really like it. But first I noticed that the bookmark icons are of very poor quality and resetting FAV does not change them. I also noticed that the fonts and even the images on VIVALDI are blurred.
      Look at the stars-sharp on firefox, blurred on vivaldi. Fonts also strain the eyes. All plugins are off, page zoom is 100%.
      Windows 10 1903 with 125% font scaling. What to do? This is very important to me 😞

        Check the setting for hardware acceleration. At least as far as the fonts go.

          add this to your custom CSS if you have one

          body {
             -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
             -moz-osx-font-smoothing: gray;
             background-color: rgba(10,10,10,0.0) !important
          }

          you could also launch Vivaldi with this command line switch

          --enable-font-antialiasing

            I enabled and disabled hardware acceleration in the browser. Disabled "scaling applications for high dpi" in Windows. It doesn't help, it only gets worse if the system struggles with blurring

              @ch3f said in Blurred interface, text, noise pictures:
              add this to your custom CSS if you have one
              I do not understand this, the badges in the panel should also become sharp?

              you could also launch Vivaldi with this command line switch
              I tried to run with such a team "--enable-font-antialiasing" I will not change anything
              Picture noisy and blurred

                @DJIGSTAR Not sure what @ch3f was thinking, anti-aliasing actually blurs fonts to get rid of jagged or blocky effects ... if anything you'd want to disable it. Sorry, don't see a setting for that.

                  @sgunhouse OP mentioned that his fonts were also blurry also happens to be in the post title..soo I posted a fix for that. Could also be OP's systems default anti-aliasing causing an issue.

                  @sgunhouse read posts and there titles carefully before replying.

                  I also noticed that the fonts and even the images on VIVALDI are blurred.

                    Imo this problem consists of 2 parts:

                    • Vivaldi's UI blurriness (tab icons and names) in compare with Chrome/Opera. I think that's a bug, so I've reported it today. But who knows when it will be fixed... https://www.reddit.com/r/vivaldibrowser/comments/lfl9xc/blurry_fonts_in_most_tab_headers_and_in_pdf/
                    • Text rendering on the sites comes from Blink engine and it is known for being blurred - https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/9762/bring-back-directwrite-flag?page=1

                    I think it is better to use Firefox if you want better font rendering experience.

                      In fact, this is already going on like with version 3.6 of some final ones, or with beta 3.7. There, in general, the text in the tabs began to blur when the speaker icon appeared with audio. I once submitted a bug report under the number VB-76540. Then, in versions of the already stable 3.7, it seemed to be better, but the soapy text in the tabs still appeared sometimes.

                      And with an increase in the interface, pornography with a user interface also begins, site icons become low-resolution, the interface icons themselves, for example, by 125%, also become blurred. And I do not like the size of the tab bar and the default address bar ... it is very small at 1920x1080, but for the reasons described above, there is no desire to enlarge the browser. Why by default they did everything so small is not very clear. I can't even imagine what happens in the resolution above.

                      Now in version 3.8, open the same page with the theme, in Edge, Chrome, Firefox and you will see that the icon on the tab in these browsers will be clear, and blurry in vivaldi

                        @adem I've been on Firefox for years now
                        I wanted something new, group tabs by domain is a very useful feature and I like how it is implemented in Vivaldi. On Firefox, this is not even close 😞

                        You can get used to blurry fonts, but you can't get used to blurry images

                        I will sit on Firefox for now
