Vivaldi Crypto Wallet

@gwen-dragon I'm curious about your objection. Do you object simply to Vivaldi giving users the option, to pay for things in cryptocurrency? Or is is more that you fear where it would lead, and what else Vivaldi might do in terms of cryptocurrency (you mentioned Vivaldi becoming a sinking ship)?

maybe it's very smart
Well, if it allows you to pay without handing your credit card over and relying on a company to 'lock down' your credit card if/when the number gets stolen, then I think so.
@HanlonsRazor I'm very curious about your objection. You seem to think it's some kind of scam? Do you also think stocks are some kind of scam? Do you use your country's currency?

@greybeard @Yoditar I don't think it should implement it's own token for the sake of implementing it's own token. Maybe, if it has a truly amazing idea, but I can't think of anything that would warrant that at this time.

@mirevsky I think, Eggcorn is right.
You should edit your post to include what a wallet is and not say that Vivaldi needs to join a crypto community.Maybe you could say Vivaldi is great for privacy and independent of big tech and crypto wallet would go right along with this.
Also maybe mention the possibility of integrating with M3: 'Send payments through emails!'

I disagree, it's too late for that. Just make a new thread (maybe as a feature request). A thread that's plainly about a wallet, and only a wallet! And that clearly and simply explains what a wallet actually is.
Edit: Code3, you seem to know what you're talking about here. How about you be the one to make the thread? Probably also be worth mentioning what a wallet isn't (namely, that is isn't a Brave Rewards-like system).

@code3 you're right, maybe I should change the topic content, to clarify it... but the overall idea is that... All mayor banks are looking into the crypto currency / digital currency...
Think about it, what do you do every day? Browse the web, send emails, online shopping...
You do brawsing with Vivaldi, (Vivaldi Mail in dev) so you send mail with some mail client... When you want to buy something online , you add CC info and make payment (You use some software)... or use crypto currency to make a payment (You use other software)...Lets look into the future, when Crypto or Digital currencies are something that we gonna use on daily bases? Do you need 10 apps that will do parcial work... or you want to have a software with functionalities that you need, available to you? You already trust Vivaldi with security and privacy, do you?
And Vivaldi does not have to develop the features... but should it allow integration?
I would rather have a button in the Show Panel, to navigate to all these things I just listed, then install 100 apps that are doing parcial work...
Think about an eco system... and what would that eco system look like?
What do we do , on daily bases... Vivaldi provides one functionality already... What are the next things that Vivaldi need to evolve and build an ecosystem... (Browse, Send/Read Mail, Purchase Online)
But that is just me...

This thread was brought to the attention of the mods, so let me leave a little reminder: Please keep this topic about the feature request, ways it could be implemented, etc. I see there's already been another topic created about this request.
If you want to debate the pros and cons of cryptocurrencies and other schemes, please make a topic in a more relevant area of the forum to keep the feature request threads clean.
Thanks.

@lonm Maybe you should just lock this thread. I suggested a new thread, because it wasn't clear what the OP here was actually suggesting.
Edit: And more to the point, because it wasn't clear what people in this thread were actually supporting and opposing.

@code3 If we want to discuss the pros and cons of crypto-currency in chit-chat, better to just make a new thread for that.
