Addressbar copy/pasting when the address contains %2F (/)
-
Hi,
So I am often working with Jenkins and it's github multibranch jobs, and a job/branch name contains almost always a slash in it's name. This is URL encoded in the address with %2F. Vivaldi decodes that again in the address bar and shows the "/".
Well that's fine, looks better in the address bar.
But...
If you copy that URL again you do not have the encoded %2F in there and if you send this link to someone, he/she cannot open it.
Even if you copy it and paste it again in the same Vivaldi window, Vivaldi cannot open it!The option "Copy and Cut Encoded Adress" just does NOTHING to that, it doesn't change the behaviour in any way.
(I also tried restarting Vivaldi after checking or unchecking that option, it just doesn't change!)So seriously, am I doing something wrong or is this a nasty bug?
Vivaldi version is: 3.7.2218.45 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
I recognized this behaviour on Windows and Linux, therefore I am posting in the forum above the OS.

@Gwen-Dragon said in Addressbar copy/pasting when the address contains %2F (/):
A known and already reported bug in this version. No progress for a fix.
Thx for the info, didn't find a hint through search, so sorry for the duplicate.

Any news on this?
I'm on 3.8.2259.37 (stable) and I still have that issue. The release notes mention VB-77543 which looks at least related (it's about the query string, not the address). -
