Video Downloader Built In

I have tried using some keywords, but they did not bring any topics about this, so I thought I would suggest it. If this were to be implemented, you could use a video downloader icon in the address bar similar to the QR code one. It does not necessarily have to support Youtube if Google won't allow it, but including Youtube would be very handy. Support for many video types would be pretty good too, including audio files like mp3.

this is probably too complicated for vivaldi. i recommend you to use a good video downloader program instead, such as...
(mod edit: removed link to sus app)

This is already possible. Right click an HTML5 video and you get the option to download it. If a site disables this feature, there is not much Vivaldi can do about it.

I'm using
youtube-dl
as command-line tool in Linux. There is a GUI too.
It's updated often when changings occur in YT that are blocking any DL.It's working not only for YT. And it is able to convert videos to mp3 and other formats.

For YouTube this along with youtube=dl-gui-git for Linux works great. Rather Linux or Windows Video DownloadHelper browser extension and it's desktop companion app works great for most other videos. I also have XMD Browser Monitor and it's companion app which works great for videos besides be a great download helper.

Maybe you can use a video downloader, such as Freemake and DumpMedia Video Downloader. You can find some useful tools online.

New rules regarding content for children have taken effect on YouTube.

@bristleback
youtube-dl
still works (at least on Linux. I don't have used it on Windows yet.) -
Youtube-dl can be found https://github.com/ytdl-org/youtube-dl#readme for Linux/Mac/Windows.
I vote against adding more and more Gimmicks to Vivaldi. Makes browser complicated, slow and uneasy to debug/fix issues. I say no to a Browser as a All-Purpose tool.
