Vivaldi on twitch {shows ad block popup}
-
So here is the notice i get on TWITCH while watching a streamer...and it just started happening two days ago:
The problem is, i turned off all 3rd party apps, like my ad and popup blockers, and the vivaldi ad blocker, so is there a script Vivaldi is running that I don't know about that should be turned off here? This isn't happening on Edge. What to do?
-
@Caiven ALSO IT SHOULD BE NOTED that this doesn't come up right away, but only after about 5-30 minutes of being on, then it goes away.
-
I watch Twitch fairly frequently and I haven't seen this.
-
@Komposten it just started happening two days ago and it takes up to 30 min before it'll start showing intermittently.
-
@Caiven Which Vivaldi version are you on?
-
3.5.2115.81 (Stable channel) (64-bit)

I don't notice it as I'm using uBlock Origin, meanwhile seems others noticed it, informed the lists maintainers, and now it's filtered correctly.

@iAN-CooG Thanks for the reply. But even when i disabled it, it is still happening. And according to another site, it seems that Twitch identifies anything as 3rd party if it's a build based on another platform. Even when i disable the adblockers and the popup blocker, it still happens. As such, because Vivaldi is a Chrome-like product, I'm like 98% sure it is being viewed as 3rd party since it's chromium-based. When i use Edge, it doesn't happen. So it's my belief that this will happen as long as they consider chromium-based browsers as "3rd party." I understand Twitch wanting to push away actual 3rd party sources, but they're mis-identifying Vivaldi as a 3rd party source when in fact it's just a chromium-based browser. IMHO.
