WhatsApp Sidebar 2021
-
DOWNLOAD EXTENSION:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/whatsapp-mini/dhainjljdmfaecmloekicjfhhaihchmf?hl=en-USHow to get it to work with Vivaldi Sidepanel:
Sometimes WhatsApp Web will show the App Download page instead of WhatsApp Web.
Do the following to make it work:- Install the extenion > Sidepanel add> Add http://web.whatsapp.com
- Open WhatsApp Web in a normal Tab.
- Right click on the newly added icon and choose "Desktop Version"
- Click the Home button in the Title-bar of the extension to load into WhatsApp Mini.
Some of you might have turned off the "Title-bar/Home button",
To make the Home button appear: Right click on the icon > Toolbar > Show.
Enjoy!

@vimana I'm excited to check it out.

@vimana Nice work! Great. No need to customize panel width.
Is it possible to activate the < and > arrows in toolbar? It is working in Telegram sidebar and should work in WhatsApp too. -

It is no extension. It is the web-panel of Telegram-web. It is modified with CSS, but that doesn't concern the working of the <> arrows.

@vimana BTW: As I have my dark colors with little blue in it (coming from the theme Blueprint) I badly need the avatar bar color changed. Dark brown doesn't fit here.
Is there any code-line that I can use for it (via stylus or else)?

As you guys requested the extension I released it as soon as I could, so it has no color / theme changing function in it. I have even found a couple of bugs right after I published it.
I think next weekend I'll get some time to work on the extension, please note down things this extension should have and i'll try to implement it.

I have service which delivery goods from China tao38.ru. Now I can you Whatsapp web on Android conveniently. I need whatsapp web as the orginal Whatsapp app is installed on manager's phone. Sometimes I need to open this chats with clients on my phone.
To enable need install Yandex Browser on Android. It is the only browser that supports extensions. I don't know why... Than install User-Agent Switcher and Manager extension and enable desktop user agent.
Why Vivaldi and other browsers don't want to make support extensions?

There is a feature request for extension support: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/31078/support-extensions/
There are a lot of discussions about it in that thread. -
Seems like the extension is no longer working... I already had a doubt WhatsApp would every now and then change its internal CSS class names /code. I have an idea how we can solve it.
I will have a look at a more permanent solution.
Progress > Improve > Evolve!

works now

@maxtao Fine!
-
Hello dear friends! Are you guys still enjoying the extension?
-
@vimana Not really. Why not? Because in Web panel I can't forward any content.
I can click on one of the first in the list. But there is no vertical scroll bar and no send-button.
I haven't told you yet because I rarely use WhatsApp. -
@Dancer18 Thank you for the feedback, currently I'm in Malaysia (moved from Norway), here in Asia every communication is through WhatsApp
Yes there are some layout bugs that must be fixed, but as for the 'Chat' works pretty ok for me. Any how I'll look in to the 'forward' function

Do the following to make it work:I tried this on Mozilla Firefox but didn't work, So I would like to know does this extension only for Chrome browser, Because Opera has its own WhatsApp sidebar feature...

@robertdinor Basically it doesn't need an extension for WhatsApp anymore, you can just add the web version as a web panel and give it a custom width.
