Leak caused by WebGL
-
Hello precious vivaldi community. There is a situation in the browser that is caused by WebGL and should not be. In fact, this is the case in most browsers. WebGL technology leaks the graphics card model we are using and some information. Of course, there are ways to circumvent this leak, such as using the "WebGL Fingerprint Defender" plugin or turning off javascript. But I find it more correct to include this solution in the browser's default features. There should be at least a choice of choice (so that it can be used where WebGL technology works.)
So far, I have tested whether this happens in some browsers. This leak has occurred in most browsers. But what struck me was that Goanna-based browsers such as Pale Moon and Basilisk did not experience this leak.
What are your thoughts on this topic? Will the fix come?
You can perform the WebGL leak test here.

@myasincavdar Most browsers are vulnerable to a lot of leaking. If you would like more protection, vote for this: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/29011/browser-fingerprinting-protection and perhaps the devs will implement it one day.
Fingerprint protection is tricky as if you do it badly it can actually make you more identifiable.

As you said, fingerprint protection needs to be well planned. Otherwise, a special protection (fingerprint) will only be created for vivaldi.
