Has anyone found any alternatives to this addon that work with vivaldi? I use and rely on this one and love the functionality but it breaks on me multiple times a day forcing me to restart the browser to get it working again.

Your system has a problem.
For me it works like a charm.
Good to know its working for you. Can I ask how many tabs you run it with? Perhaps my large number of tabs is causing the problem? Although that is kind of the point of the whole thing....

About 10 or 12.
Thanks, my guess is something just isn't written with the amount of tabs I have open and it just breaks. Hundreds at all times, sometimes thousands. Which is why this functionality was so important to me. Oh well...

If you open hundreds or thousands tabs, maybe the problem is Vivaldi not Otto tabs.

Bravo. Bravissimo.
Otto tabs have been updated by the author on Chrome Web Store:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/otto-tabs/pjgajilkdijnbfmglfbpnenocpajmdlb
- Changelog
v0.3.0 :
https://github.com/borsini/chrome-otto-tabs/releases/tag/v0.3.0
-
For those users who have colleagues, family or friends who "stubbornly" still use Chrome, recommend them to use the Otto Tabs to auto group tabs, it now works perfectly after the last update:
-
In Vivaldi 6.7.3329.17 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Otto Tabs not works.
Does anyone know how to send a message to @grigorye (or the author @borsini) on Github as he is not active on the forum since sep 18, 2023?

Hey, yeah, I've just realized that it's indeed broken in 6.7. Can't promise a fix (as, again, I'm not JS developer), but I'll take a look.
-
OK, at quick glance, it's the same nature of the problem that it used to be when it broke last time (identifying whether the browser is Vivaldi (and not Chrome)). However, this time (so far) there's no known solution to it.
(Note folks complaining about vivExtData no longer working in 6.7):
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/68659729/how-to-detect-clients-web-browser-is-vivaldi
Given that it's a recent issue, people will probably discover a workaround sooner or later.
Meanwhile, we could just hard-code the check to always treat the browser as Vivaldi (I checked it and at quick glance it works), but that would break it for Chrome (so I can't imagine this change accepted upstream).
You can find the fork (based on the most recent upstream) with the workaround (hardcoded check for Vivaldi) here: https://github.com/grigorye/chrome-otto-tabs/tree/feature/Vivaldi-Only

P.S. Folks, please don't abuse GitHub for reaching to me. I'm subscribed/get notifications from Vivaldi forums.

I apologise, I didn't mean to upset you but you appeared as if you hadn't visited the forum since Sep 2023. Now I know that you are subscribed to the notifications.

Hey, if somebody needs a prebuilt version of the fork, just let me know. I don't seem to have the rights to attach a .zip to this thread though.
