I can't find the "Search Image with Google" link in the context menu. I'm using Vivaldi 3.5.2115.87 (Stable channel) (a 64 bit) on Windows 10.

@mannivu Hello, there is no such link - I believe it was removed in 3.5. Vivaldi does not want to associate itself with the G-man or use features specific to a single (privacy-violating) search engine.
EDIT: this was wrong... correct answer in this post.

@Pathduck Yes, I remember there was a link in the context menu, but I've seen only now that there's no link anymore. Thank you anyway!

@Gwen-Dragon No, I have Ecosia. I've tried chaning the default search engine to Google but the context-menu option didn't appear (both in standard and incognito mode after restarting browser).

@Gwen-Dragon It worked a few time ago. I've always used Ecosia as my main engine on Vivaldi and I always had the "Search image with Google" link in the context menu. I'm not sure since when it disappeared, though.

@Gwen-Dragon I don't think that's true, I've just set Wikipedia as default search engine and still I have "Search Google for Image" as context menu, just tried even on some of the avatars in this thread. It just works for me.

@Pathduck It's still here for me in Vivaldi 3.6.2160.3 and never disappeared IIRC, I use it many times a day

@Gwen-Dragon I think @iAN-CooG is right as this option never disappeared for me (Google is definitively not my default SE & never was). If I right-click an image, Search Google for Image is one of the items in the context menu (here, airliners.net, The Guardian, planespotter, unsplash, to name but a few).

Yeah, looks like I was too quick - it does show in a clean profile... I suspect it's been gone for a long time, I've never noticed it was missing at all.

I wonder what causes it? In a clean profile Bing is the default engine. I don't think it's extensions, will have to try.

@Gwen-Dragon Good theory that it might be menu customisation. I tried deleting mainmenu.json and contextmenu.json but that wasn't it.

At this point I'm more curious about what might cause the entry to be gone, since I was so bombastic in my first post. I don't really use the Google Image search anyway, and once we have custom context menus I would probably remove it anyway.

@iAN-CooG said in No "Search image with Google" link in context menu:

I have Bing as default Search, and get "Search Bing for Image" in my context menu.
Have akso deleted g as a search engine... that may be why.

OK I think I've figured it out, this context menu entry is part of Chromium and is controlled by the selected engine in chrome://settings/searchEngines.

Apparently image search is only available in Google, Bing and Yandex. It's not related to the chosen engine in Vivaldi settings at all.

I suspect that @mannivu might have installed an extension that has changed the engine. Could you check the URL above what is selected as default?

@Pathduck In that page I had Ecosia selected. I've selected Google and now the link is back in the context menu. Thank you!
