Friday poll: which operating system do you use?

@Stardust , It is remarkable that the Linux community is increasingly considering Vivaldi in their distros, even though Vivaldi is not entirely OSS. That Feren even uses it as the default browser is also unusual.
It kinda makes sense, I think. I'd say that there is a higher proportion of power-users and tinkerers in the Linux community, and Vivaldi would exert a strong appeal to them for that reason. They may also be more engaged with the forum for whatever reason.
Macsters are letting the side down here, but I have to confess that most of us aren't big into tinkering: me, probably more than most, because I come from a BSD & Linux background, and still live in the terminal and use a tiling window manager (virtually unheard of among mainstream Macsters). I ended up moving over to Mac, though, because I wanted the power and security of BSD, but without the hassles that I no longer have the time to deal with (I was never a programmer, so I had to muddle my way through in a very inefficient way whenever I ran into a problem).

@Catweazle OldeOpera, and now Vivaldi, always had a lot of Linux users among the development staff (some of the same guys, truth told), and always developed in a Linux-friendly way. Further, many of them are on Linux forums, etc. Linux support for OldeOpera and now Vivaldi was always strong for that reason, and there is a sort of kinship there. Both among the developers, and among the community, the Linux population is much higher here than as a per-capita share of users overall.

Meanwhile, the gap is only 2 votes:

@Crimsonshade Matter & anti-matter. Now i understand that huge brief energy spike i detected.

I am not a programmer, but over the years I have accumulated enough experience to know what can and what not, and yes, I consider myself, what is called power user, although I do not find this such an accurate definition.
In my beginnings with the Internet I have also experimented with different operating systems when they arose, but currently the OS leaves me indifferent, once configured to my liking, it is for me simply a platform to access the network, where the UI is that of the Browser, and this is identical, regardless if I use Windows, Linux or Mac. -
It seems so obvious that a superior browser like Vivaldi deserves only the most superior platform. Ergo, i vote that effective immediately, Vivaldi drops its Mac, windoze & mobile versions, with full steam ahead on Linux.
I do not anticipate terribly much adverse opinion...

STOP THE COUNT!

I can't Windowz... I am a lifetime Linux user, never had a single Windows PC, only had Linux at home...
Last time I tried Windowz, it made me enjoy Linux more...

Right. As for now, there will be only a tiny handful of Mac protesters… Nothing to be afraid of.
