Youtube fullscreen unavailable
-
Hello there,
for several days now I'm experiencing a problem with youtube - it won't let me open fullscreen mode in any video (this is NOT about embedded videos with fullscreen locked, but about videos played directly on youtube.com).
"Learn more" is obviously useless. I tried to clear all cache from youtube.com and disable all extensions, both to no avail. Issue is not present on Microsoft Edge.
Internet search results were scarce, but some of them was pointing out that this is old recurring problem with no actual resolution.
Does anyone have information on how tackle this problem? Does anyone else experienced this? Is this a bug to remove by devs? So many questions. -
@zaguoba I see no YouTube setting that could prevent fullscreen mode.
- Try logging out to see if it is related to cookies.
- Try a Guest Profile to see if it is related to extensions or your profile.
- Check for updates to ensure that you're using the latest version of Vivaldi.
- Let us know which version of Windows you are using.

Like very often with such bizzare issues, it resolved itself on very morning after I decided to describe it here.
Something happened though, I think my laptop crashed (bluescreen) in the meantime. So maybe a simple restart was required, after all I am not sure if I tried such obvious solution (normally I do not turn off my pc, just hibernate it).
I do remember updating Vivaldi to latest stable and my win version is Win 10 64-bit 2004 build 19041.572, I don't see however how this could be relevant.
Well, tough luck.

@zaguoba New bugs can surface after a Windows update as well as a Vivaldi update. If you edit your forum signature to include any relevant information, you just have to remember to update it when a new version is released.
Windows was updated yesterday, and Vivaldi Snapshot was updated today.

Same issue here, issue persists when I use incognito mode (logged out / no extensions) but watching youtube with a new profile does seem to do the trick.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, this problem returned several times since my OP and makes my dissatisfaction of using Vivaldi grow exponentially (it's not on v e r y high level yet though). Today I said like spanish dudes are saying: basta! Then I did these things:
- restart PC
- logout my vivaldi profile and then log back
- restart pc
- closed my three long pinned tabs (and one of them was YT video I didn't play in a very long time)
- after minuscule amount of consideration, close all other tabs
- restart PC
Problem gone. For now, as I presume. It seems for me, that it can be somehow linked to pinned tabs.
Oh, and today, contrary to what @chrisma said, in incognito mode issue was gone even before I did all other mentioned things.
