Importing passwords from Opera classic doesn’t work
-
When importing passwords from Opera 12, do I have to disable the Master Password first? Vivaldi doesn’t complain, but it doesn’t import, either. I was afraid of that.
Any idea what the default Master Password is? Opera 12 doesn’t let me set it to blank.Or should it be “! h3r3by 4ll0w 4ll p455w0rd5 70 b3 3xp0r73d !n70 V!V4LD!” ‽
PS: Memento to Vivaldi coders:

Something’s wrong on my side because I did the same steps and the passwords don’t appear under vivaldi://settings/privacy.
The passwords all appear in NirSoft Opera Pass View (which even though it’s suspicious enough that Vivaldi warned me not to download it works better than the myriad of alternatives).
I even imported just the passwords, and restarted Vivaldi.

I have the same problem. I can't import o12 passwords. Bookmarks and notes are fine. Are there any limits (like special characters that doesn't work) or is there an import log where i can see details or an error somewhere? It only shows "Import fertiggestellt" (german, import completed) but there are no new (imported) passwords in the list (settings).

Hi guys,
the issues with passwords importing is known, now we work for fixing it. Stay tuned!

Good to know, thanks
Slightly offtopic: all this importing got me duplicates.
For bookmarks and notes I guess it will be easy to remove them (by the v1 release at the latest, I presume), but for passwords I think the import overwrote newer passwords with old ones (I have another Opera12 profile from which import works).
I'm not sure how easy it is to detect this scenario, wand.dat doesn't seem to contain timestamps. -
