Session Buddy does not Restore Stacked Tabs
-
If I have a a bunch of stacked tabs then do a restore via Session Buddy, all the tabs end up in-line. I then have to manually restack the tabs the way they were before. Is there a way to do an auto save of stacked tabs and later, have them restored as stacked tabs?

What is Session Buddy?

Session Buddy can't be 100% compatible with Vivaldi because Tab Stacks is a Vivaldi feature. I suggest if you want to retain the stacks, you should try Vivaldi's own session restore feature with "File > Save Open Tabs as Session" (See: Session Management)

You can also install this js mod to emulated Session Buddy autosave function, with stacked tab: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/33047/autosave-sessions-mod/72

@dude99 ah, now that I know what Session Buddy is, yes, absolutely. In fact, it's highly recommend uninstalling the extension and installing the mod instead. The mod is, effectively, native code; while the extension makes your browser fingerprint more unique and therefore easier to track.
In addition to the AutoSave Sessions Mod, I also highly recommend the Advanced Panels Mod (with Sessions Panel). Prior to discovering this mod, sessions was just a minor feature that I used to save my state before shutting down Vivaldi to free up resources or reboot. Now, using this Mod, sessions have become an integral part of my workflows. The mod technically allows you to create all sorts of Advanced Panels, but it comes with the Sessions Panel as an example, and that Panel is extremely useful. It's far better than the native UI for creating, accessing & maintaining sessions. Now, instead of polluting my bookmarks with pages I only want to save temporarily, I'll just save them as a session. It's been a great benefit to me.

@BoneTone Actually, Session Buddy functions r nicer than combo of js & session panel mod, because it allow index search & edit of saved sessions' tab/window. The cons r it could cause browser to slow down if current session is too big, & I think it doesn't remember tab's history. (I could be wrong, last I use it is years ago)

@dude99 said in Session Buddy does not Restore Stacked Tabs:
The cons
The additional trust required is one of its biggest drawbacks. And, AFAICT, it's not open source.
Search could be added to the Session Panel, as it is open source. Vivaldi already offers the ability to search open tabs natively. Modifying a session is a simple as just saving it again.
