Inspect Element, Reload (through context menu) crashes Tab
-
Noticed this weird behaviour on the latest snapshot v3.4.2059.2 where if you reload a page through the context menu while the Inspect Element is open, the tab seems to crash, this only happens with the Context Menu Refresh, I don't know if this is specific only to the Windows build or if it also happens on other platforms.

Here's the info on how to Report a crash on Windows

The browser itself doesn't crash, only the tab and there's no crash report created.

@ZarkBit Then create one! https://vivaldi.com/de/bugreport/
Good luck.

@Gwen-Dragon Thanks for the heads up. Is there any progress regarding its fix?

@Gwen-Dragon, it is unfortunate because this is the bug that breaks my workflow the most when using Vivaldi.
@ZarkBit, I have been waiting for this bug to be fixed for about a year. As Gwen explained, it is recommended to use another browser's developer tools instead for now.
I know some of us have been browsing the forums and release changelogs for some time wondering when this and other developer tool issues would be fixed. I have understood these issues have to be prioritized before they can be resolved. We will have to keep waiting patiently.

@ZarkBit and @Gwen-Dragon There seems to be a workaround for this issue in Vivaldi 3.7 Stable that I was also able to try in recent snapshots. Now that webpage context menus have become editable, the problematic "Reload" option can be replaced with a similar option such as "Reload Page". Right-clicking "Reload Page" while Vivaldi's developer tools are open seems to no longer crash the browser or make it temporarily unstable. The webpage right-click context menu can be changed in the settings through Appearance > Menu Customization > Web Page > Page.
While there is more work that should be done for Vivaldi's developer tools, this is very good to have. I am thankful to the Vivaldi team for providing a workaround. When I first heard that they were starting to make context menus editable, I had a feeling this setting would help once they also made web page context menus editable. This capability noticeably helps my workflow, and I don't mind doing this for new Vivaldi installs when needed. However, it would be welcome if the Vivaldi team made "Reload Page" the default instead of "Reload" for reloading the webpage context menu as long as it continues to work as expected, unless they have already been planning to fix "Reload" soon, especially to help users who might not be aware of this workaround.
