Periodic tab reload – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 2056.19

@ripuhan: Does restarting the browser help?
-
@ingeb: It does not. The two buttons work fine only for the very first time the browser is loaded. Clear entries from "Show Closed Tabs" first time it works, close 1-2 open tabs, open 1-2 new tabs, close them, switch tabs 1-2 times and both "Show Closed Tabs" and "Synced Tabs" buttons stop working.

@bonetone: Yes. Sync settings as well as internals page look good.
The sync settings doesn't indicate what you need to look for. You need to see the timestamp of the most recent sync, and verify its status, check that tabs have data in the table. The best thing to do is actually to trigger updates and make sure that no updates are synced.

The Welcome page always resumes for the last time. It should start over from the beginning.
(VB-71619) Welcome Page Cannot be Repeated from Start

[Tabs] Previews not shown on hover (VB-72202)
This doesn't seem to have been fixed. I still get no thumbnail popups.
EDIT: Based on what Pesala said, I'm assuming this issue was not fixed for macOS only.
-
@ripuhan: Thanks. Can reproduce it here, but only if I click on the 'Show Closed Tabs' button when the list is empty, e.g. after clearing the list but before closing any more tabs. Then it stays broken. But a restart 'fixes' it, on both win10 and mac. Great if you can send us a bug report if it behaves differently for you. We'll look into it!
-
@AltCode Working fine here for background tabs. It has never worked for the active tab.
-
@Pesala I'm not talking about the active tab (I am aware they've never worked for the active tab). I'm saying that thumbnail popups aren't showing at all.
-
@ripuhan: I can confirm this bug. It started last build. It is simple to trigger. Having closed some tabs just empty the trash and then click the trash again. Both trash and sync buttons should then exhibit the problem.

Why no custom seconds option in Periodic tab reload?
-
there is an issue in pause button since the other update,, check it pls
-
@ingeb: I can add that right click menus on tabs also stop working when the problem is triggered. I tried to test the new periodic reload and had to restart the browser.
-
@Durtro Thanks.
-
The reload values for the tab can be set via a fixed list on the context menu of the tab or you can use quick commands to set an interval value (in seconds, with a minimum of 60).
i.e. Open Quick Commands, "Periodic Reload 90" and you would be a 1 minute, 30 second reload
-
@mizouniihichem: It appears to work fine here. Perhaps you could expand on what issue you have with it

-

Thanks, this was a very nice old Opera feature, good old memories, now also implement this -> https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/34899/show-timer-inside-address-bar-to-show-waiting-for-response
-
@ripuhan: We are aware this can happen. I updated the known issues.
