High CPU usage while downloading files
And my task manager shows that it has 1419 apps running in vivaldi
And it use half of my memories
Version: Vivaldi 3.3.2022.47(Stable Channel)(64 bit) -
@cytsai1008 Known bug. Team is looking into it.

I'm glad it's a known bug. I run Win 7 (I know) with same version Vivaldi (32bit) and as a workaround I leave my download tab closed when downloading and the apps (vivaldi.exe) do not appear in the task manager. Hope it works for you!

@davechatt Hey. I tried this workaround and it does seem to consistently prevent the creation of duplicate Vivaldi processes whenever downloading files. I didn't have to keep deleting my History file in the Vivaldi profile directory. Thanks for this workaround mate!

Hi, didnt have this problem until I updated to 3.6.2165.40 (Stable channel) (64-bit) any ETA for fix or any workaround? OS win 7
-
I'm also facing same problem.I am on 3.7.2218.52 (Stable channel) (64-bit).
-
I am using 3.8.2259.42 (Stable channel) 64 bit and the bug is still present. Please fix it.
-
Have this problem too. 3.8.2259.42 Win7 32bit It's just unbearable. Only restarting the computer helps
-
It is marked as SOLVED but it isn't now. It keeps coming back. It was fixed earlier i don't remember in which update but same issue again. Build I'm using right now is 3.8.2259.42 (Stable channel) (64-bit).
-
Just confirming this issue is still present using 3.8.2259.40, and download speed is throttled significantly. However, using 3.7.2259.42 CPU usage will spike but the throttling issue is resolved.

It seems not solved in 4.0 too.
But in some topic on same problem (can't find it now) was a workaround - to uncheck option "Settings/Downloads/Open Download Panel Automatically". After unchecking and checking it again high CPU usage and freezing time reduced - now it's not several minutes, but 10-20 seconds, but maybe it's not relatedBut it still creates a lot of vivaldi processes with commandline:
"C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\Application\vivaldi.exe" --type=utility --utility-sub-type=chrome.mojom.UtilReadIcon --field-trial-handle=1200,4621366345870985846,3368168441987257234,131072 --enable-features=FtpProtocol --lang=ru --running-vivaldi --service-sandbox-type=icon_reader --mojo-platform-channel-handle=15472 /prefetch:8
Different processes has different numbers of "--field-trial-handle" and "--mojo-platform-channel-handle".
