Username / Password autofill
-
Hi,
Old user come back for more:-)
Haven't used Vivaldi for about a year or so. I had some real issues getting Netflix, Brave, Amazon prime streaming videos to work using Vivaldi and that was a deal breaker for me-so went back to Firefox. I have tested the newest version of Vivaldi with the streaming services and all work great now! I never did uninstall Vivaldi, but recently I thought lets give it another go. I opened up the old installed version and immediately updated to the newest version. Seems faster to me(?) but who knows.
I noticed within the 2nd day of using Vivaldi that it does not fill in certain username / password fields on just certain websites.
I do not have ANY google services enabled (nor will I ever enable them)
My privacy settings are as restrictive as I can get them without breaking the web (in ALL the browsers I use)
My firewall downloads, updates and uses IP blacklists and snort to further my networks' privacy and securityThe one web page I AM concerned about, as far as the auto user/password field filling, is my firewall's web browser interface. This is a 60 character randomly generated password that I change frequently.
No matter what I try the firewalls login page will not auto fill username or password.
My firewall does have more than one web based interface and I access them on different ports. For example, I access the main interface on port 441 but other interfaces for different functions of the firewall have different ports using the same IP. There are 3 web interfaces for my firewall. MAIN firewall interface, Network flows history/charting/trends interface and real-time Network activity flows and packet capture options interface - all on different ports.
Does Vivaldi have issues with username/password auto-fill if MORE than one web-based interface is available from a single IP?
Does Vivaldi still have issues with POPUP login Windows such as one might received from a Soho switch/router?And finally, anyone have any idea of why this is happening to me with my Firewall Interface or any idea of how to go about getting it working.
I have only confirmed settings in Vivaldi and cleared caches, rebooted the PC and the firewall and those sort of 1st lvl troubleshooting steps so far. None of them worked.
As a informational tidbit, NONE of the issues I've stated above are found in Firefox, which is usually my default browser.
I would like my default browser to be Vivaldi and that is why I am trying it again a year later:-)Having a functioning auto-fill for username/password fields is another deal breaker for me. If it cannot be resolve, I'll see you all again in a year or so.
I couldn't care a less about form auto fill but that being said, having to really on a google service to do this in Vivaldi browser is also completely unacceptable - I have turned off all google services and won't enable them ever. Firefox has it's own form filling function in which all data for it is stored locally and NOT shared with Mozilla or any other company-this is the way it SHOULD be done.
Thanks to everyone!

Hi,
On my side, I can't do the test.
But,
If you can, check the behavior on Chrome.Depending on the results, the problem comes from Chromium.
So it needs a crbug to be filled. Then,
Test on a V Clean Profile.- "Right side" |
Rename it as Tests or something related, and use it as a Clean Profile, to test without custom configurations that can alter the original operation.

Related to Passwords,
You can export them and check the related URLs.You could try to edit the .CSV and add the :Port# on the URLs if missing and test.
