Alt, SPACE, execute command!
-
Instructions:-
Create a new menu folder in Menubar/button via Settings > Appearance > MENU.
-
Name it "&[SPACE]", it will appear as "_" in the menu.
-
Add your most common use commands under the "_" folder.
-
Edit commands' name by insert "&" before the letter you want to use to execute it.
Now, you can hit Alt, SPACE, then whatever key you setup in step 4 to execute the specific command. This will be quicker than QC for command you often use. -

I see.
Alt-

@potmeklecbohdan It's much finger friendly than some keyboard shortcuts & can be executed with just one hand when you're busy with the other hand. LOL

Alt + Spacebar is necessary system shortcut for Vivaldi as the icon in the top Left does not behave properly. It is useful only for closing the Window. Very useful for laptops especially.
Alt + Spacebar should display the dialog allowing user to- Restore
- Move
- Minimize,
- Maximize,
- or Close the Window.
If there is an alternate, I would use it.
-
@greybeard True, but this is "Alt, Space" Not "Alt+Space". Subtle but important difference
-
@greybeard As @Pathduck mentioned it's one key at a time keychains.
It's also possible to use alternative key such as ALT, Z or ALT, / or whatever you want. I use ALT, SPACE because it's easiest to hit with 2 fingers with either hand, & as you mentioned it's a system shortcut, thus not much "training" is needed.
-
@Pathduck So is it Alt (THEN) Space? or Alt (COMMA) Space?
"Confusion" is my middle name.
-
@greybeard Hit ALT release; Hit SPACE release; then Hit whatever you setup to execute the command. It's actually just browsing the Menu with keyboard, but it's setup in a way you don't need to remember complicated keystrokes to get the job done. In the demo above, I only need to remember "D" for Delete browser data.
Also, it only work with Menu button for now, because of bugs with Menubar.
-
@dude99 Good example since Delete Browsing Data now takes three clicks.
