I had loaded and configured Vivaldi on my Linux mint 19.3 MATE box and been impressed, however after a day or two it stopped prompting to save passwords (Brave, Chromium, Chrome and FireFox, on the same box, all do this nicely).
I did some searching on the web and found some blathering about different versions of key rings, etc. however at 70+, with Parkinson's, I have no desire or inclination to fiddle about with crap like that--and possibly break the browsers that are working and who knows what else.
In any event it was working, then stopped, and to the best of my knowledge I did not do anything to provoke it--I'm out, Brave is really doing all I need.
I do like your forun software, the dynamic side-by-side preview is a nice feature...

@cliffyk There is a setting to save web page passwords. Could that have mistakenly become unchecked?

if you click the tiny key symbol in the address bar it does initiate the prompt.
I have noticed this myself and the above step resolves it. -
