(Solved) PiP for Dailymotion (VB-69364)
-
Hello,
I did find lots of topics around Dailymotion not working but haven't been able to find one about picture-in-picture for Dailymotion.
Is PiP supposed to work for Dailymotion as well?
In my case, I don't see it working.
Thanks in advance for your answers. -
Hello there,
do you have a sample? there is a message offering trial or asking for amazon prime in all the movies.

@lamarca All videos on Dailymotion.
I've taken a random example if you're interested.

Yes, it's working on Youtube, Vimeo, etc. but not on Dailymotion (reason why I'm asking). -
@Ornorm I can confirm. PiP on Daily Motion does not seem to be supported. It works OK in FireFox.

Thanks for the sample. Pip does not work for me.

It also doesn't work on YT front end, like Echoes Player

If you have Vivaldi's Picture in Picture button feature enabled, the button actually does appear. However, it is positioned in the top left of the page, is invisible, and doesn't work when clicked. This is definitely a bug.
Firefox positions its PiP button correctly.
Another note: It looks like DailyMotion puts several transparent overlays over the video. Some of these let mouse click through, but not all of them. This means that when you right-click on a DailyMotion video you are actually right-clicking on one of these overlays, and therefore the Picture-in-Picture option does not appear as an option when right-clicking. If you use DevTools to disable all the overlays (or allow mouse clicks to pass through all of them), then right-clicking the video works as expected.
This is the same as in Firefox.
