Gmail spellcheck - I want Vivaldi spellcheck not Gmail
-
Hi,
With my current Vivaldi I have a problem with spellcheck in Gmail.The good Vivaldi spell check looks like this:
The new Gmail abomination looks like this:
The Gmail spellcheck is completely useless. Is it possible not to use this crap and use the Vivaldi spellcheck instead? Double right click does not work
Vivaldi 3.0.1874.38 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
OS Windows 10 OS Version 1903 (Build 18362.836) -

@bac I stopped using Gmail a year ago over privacy concerns.
Try the vivaldi.net email client.

@Pathduck perfect
@Pesala I know G is spying on everyone but it works and it seems it will be there. With Vivaldi webmail I wouldn't be so sure it will be there 10 years from now. Vivaldi is great, the only usable browser there is, but the Vivaldi business model seems non existent - or at least I don't understand it.
-
@bac The business model certainly exist and has so far worked for five years to keep Vivaldi developing week by week, albeit rather too slowly for many of us waiting for the built-in email client (among other things).

@Pesala they have a great product, many people would pay for that, even without any benefits just to show support and to keep the ball rolling - and maybe to motivate developers to fix the bugs faster
Instead they rely on money from strange search engines (almost) no one uses - I use DDG 90% of the time but I don't know anyone else, everyone I know uses G. I don't see how this can work with marginal web browser without any real negotiating power.I guess that was the end of Presto based Opera. They had a superb product but too expensive to maintain without any real way to generate income. And thus it was not able to compete with this Chrome crap. For me the Opera was a "tool" not just any browser. It was not able to sell its advantages.
It is they product, their decision. I hope I won't be forced to search for another Opera replacement.
